How to Select the Right Natural Stone

There is various types of Natural stones or building stones available in INDIA. Main categories are: Agate, Lapis Lazuli,Labradorite, QUARTZITE, and LIMESTONE.

We should choose the stone depending upon the area environment (Look of the area) and its usage.

Agate: Semi Precious Agate Tiles is a kind of chalcedony class mineral that is mixed with opals and striped quartz. And it is made into various decorations interior items for home. Generally, agate was widely used in the ancient times, especially in China. If you watch the royal plays about Chinese in many dynasties, you will know what an important roles the agate play.

QUARTZ STONE: These are harder then slate, due to quartz particles in it and are mostly used for interior cladding and flooring. Used also for Table tops. Quartz Stone Tabletop are available in Natural, Tumbled, Polished and Brushed Antique finish. Natural, polished and Brushed all these types have their different look and pull out the beauty escaped in the depth of stone. Sizes available are Tile and small slab size. It epitomizes sun as the gem of light. This stone was used for magic, in ceremonies and rituals and metaphysically, it is believed to lift up consciousness and elevate psychic ability. It is also said to reveal one’s spiritual destiny. Its medical properties include reducing stress and anxiety and raising mental acuteness. It clarifies night vision and regulates metabolism. Its labradorescence reminds us of the purpose of this stone, to serve as a guiding light in darkness.

Lapis Lazuli: Lapis Lazuli usually occurs in crystalline marble as a result of contact metamorphism. It comes primarily in shades of blue, but can also be found in slightly greenish shades. Intense azure blue stones with lots of Pyrite flecks and without white veins (Calcite) are the most sought after specimens. Its name is derived from ancient Persian. At between 5 and 6 on the Mohs scale, this stone is among the less hard gemstones.

LIMESTONE: Harder then Sandstone, used as sandstone but it is more brittle. The flooring interior is recommended in Polished/Honed finish and exterior in Natural finish. Cladding can be of Natural, polished or honed finish. Due to the smoothness of this stone, these are very much recommended in Natural Steps, Benches, Garden Table tops etc. These are available in Tiles and small slab sizes. Few Names are Kota Blue, Kadappa Black, Lime Grey, Lime Black, Lime beige / Lime yellow etc.
